I think the title should be more like How the Turkey Escaped。
Reign 1982,
Um, better than the Turkey being eaten。
Zazie,
This was a nice story。 I recommend it。
Rida,
Aww too cute。 I bet come next year my children would love to hear this at Thanksgiving time =)
Kristina,
I was in a elementary class and the kids had fun with this good for sequence lesson。
Michelle,
A wonderful Thanksgiving read。 Fun and Shenanigans everywhere!
Sherry Scheline,
This is a Thanksgiving book, but could be read during Christmas as well。 It is a delightful story about a Turkey 🦃 running through the school trying to avoid getting caught。 The Turkey 🦃 overcomes stage freight and the ending is super cute。 Great little book。

Kaylee Mouser,
This book rhymes and is about a turkey。 This poor turkey was captured to use for a school play。 Except he escapes, running throughout the school with an angry herd following him。 He runs and runs as fast as he can。 But he runs the wrong way, he runs right out the curtain on the center stage of the show。 As soon as he makes it to the stage they say, “He is so cute in his mascot suit!” This is the start to his mascot career。 The illustrations were very busy and detailed, they look very time consum This book rhymes and is about a turkey。 This poor turkey was captured to use for a school play。 Except he escapes, running throughout the school with an angry herd following him。 He runs and runs as fast as he can。 But he runs the wrong way, he runs right out the curtain on the center stage of the show。 As soon as he makes it to the stage they say, “He is so cute in his mascot suit!” This is the start to his mascot career。 The illustrations were very busy and detailed, they look very time consuming and perfect。 Each of them match the plot so perfectly。 It's exactly what I would picture in my head as I'm reading the pages to myself。 。。。more
Kayla,
This book is a good funny read for children it will definitely make them laugh。 It is about a turkey who escaped from its cage in school then ran all throughout the school。 Making a mess and causing a scene who ended up liking being apart of the play that was going on and became the school mascot。 This turkeys crazy ways saved him from being the main dish on thanksgiving day。
Christine Grant,
Try It!: Make It! Turkey Traps。 Perfect for this week's Try It! Activity。 NC Digital Kids。 While it worked for what we were doing, I don't think that this is a great story。 Try It!: Make It! Lexi Skyles,
I really enjoyed this book especially the rhyming。 I also liked that it was in the point of view of the turkey and not the kids。 I think this is a good book to read around the holidays to get in the spirit。 It was an easy read so I think a first grader can handle it。
Kaitlin Negus,
Very cute story my class loved it
Tam I,
Excellent read aloud
Calista,
This is the first How to Catch book I haven't read to the kids。 It's an action packed beginning book with a great rhyme scheme and the artwork is worthy of the series。 The set up is different。 Turkey's aren't mythical, so the turkey starts out in a cage and is about to go onstage during a play。 The turkey gets stage fright and takes flight and running from all the kids in the school。 It's a little different from the other books as kids aren't setting traps for the turkey as much。 There are a few This is the first How to Catch book I haven't read to the kids。 It's an action packed beginning book with a great rhyme scheme and the artwork is worthy of the series。 The set up is different。 Turkey's aren't mythical, so the turkey starts out in a cage and is about to go onstage during a play。 The turkey gets stage fright and takes flight and running from all the kids in the school。 It's a little different from the other books as kids aren't setting traps for the turkey as much。 There are a few rooms where the kids are trying to catch it, but mostly it is the chaos of school that is the danger to turkey。 The best part of this book is the ending。 The turkey is running from the principal and ends up on stage in front of the audience and the turkey discovers he loves being on stage in front of people。 It's such a cute ending。 This is a great modern Thanksgiving book for kids。 It's entertaining, fast paced and fun。I don't have many Thanksgiving books this year, so this might be it。 I'll hunt around on Open library and see if I can get another one。 Happy Turkey day everyone。 。。。more
Lisa,
Great addition to the Turkey day collection
Rachel Koszalka,
Very cute story。
Lacy,
This was a cute, short, fun read to get us in Thanksgiving mode。 The illustrations were colorful, and the sentences were short enough to keep my daughter’s attention。 This book was fun, but not really interactive or educational。 It was very enjoyable, and perfect for November。 This was a good read for both of my littles。
Danielle,
Really fun and silly story。 Excellent read aloud rhythm。 It would be five stars if it connected to Thanksgiving a bit more。
Lisa D,
Loved it! A thanksgiving classic!
Noah Rachal,
Well, since we're approaching Thanksgiving, I thought I'd kinda get with the program and brighten the mood by reading a Thanksgiving book。 This book, as you'd expect, involves a turkey。 However, the plot twists as the turkey is being chased around the school by the students and the teachers。。。but for what reason。 You'd think they are trying to catch the turkey to eat, but the real reason the turkey is running is because he has stage freight。。。yeah, I totally saw that coming。 Apparently there is Well, since we're approaching Thanksgiving, I thought I'd kinda get with the program and brighten the mood by reading a Thanksgiving book。 This book, as you'd expect, involves a turkey。 However, the plot twists as the turkey is being chased around the school by the students and the teachers。。。but for what reason。 You'd think they are trying to catch the turkey to eat, but the real reason the turkey is running is because he has stage freight。。。yeah, I totally saw that coming。 Apparently there is going to be a Thanksgiving play and the turkey is supposed to be in it。 Now along this little chase, he eventually finds himself running right in his trap, the big stage where he is greeted by a huge audience and in the midst of a performance。 He sweats, gets nervous, and is unprepared。 But then, someone in the audience yells out "he's so cute"。 After that moment, the turkey learns to relax and enjoy the moment。 I guess the key message here is you can't really enjoy something until you try it, and encouragement always helps the confidence of others。 。。。more
Lisa Baker,
Turkey's on the run, but not from what you think! He's being drafted to be in the Thanksgiving play, and suffers from stage fright! As he runs through the school trying to get away, he is chased by an assortment of different people there。 Although this book was lots of fun and had a different take on the Thanksgiving chase, it is a little more suited to children who are in elementary school (or at least attend a school setting)。 I read it to preschoolers who aren't as familiar with cafeterias an Turkey's on the run, but not from what you think! Kim,
A turkey is supposed to go on stage for a school Thanksgiving Day play but he has terrible stage fright and runs away。 The whole school tries to capture him and at one point he gets stuck in a football jersey。 When he is caught he goes on stage and enjoys it and that was the beginning of being a mascot for the school。

Sue,
The illustrations are a lot of fun and the rhyming can be used for patterning and language。
Melanie,
I got a headache at the end。 It was a good one!
Gabrielle Stoller,
This is more than a Thanksgiving book。 It's a book that introduces children to all different aspects of school--plays, principal, the sports team, etc。 That was a fun thing I didn't see coming。 Children will love the hilarity with which our turkey friend tries to avoid being in the school play!
